Many people are fond of drinking alcohol. Many people take alcohol with them while travelling, many people take alcohol with them while staying in a hotel. But the question is how much alcohol can a person take with him while staying in a hotel room. Know what action can the police take against you if the amount of alcohol is more.

Not only this, there are many such alcohol lovers who always carry alcohol with them. But do you know how much alcohol a person can carry while travelling and how much alcohol can a person keep with him while staying in a hotel.   

Let us tell you that every state has its own rules regarding alcohol. Like alcohol is banned in Gujarat and Bihar. Carrying alcohol from anywhere in these states is prohibited. You cannot take alcohol to hotels, homes or any other places in these states. You can be punished for doing so in these states.

How much alcohol in the hotel

You can take only that much alcohol to a hotel in any state, which is allowed for each person to carry during the journey in that state. Every state has its own rules for traveling with alcohol. Legal action can be taken if you travel with more alcohol than the prescribed limit.

How many bottles at home?

Each state has its own rules for keeping alcohol. No person can keep more than a certain amount of alcohol in his house. Excise department rules are different in every state of India. In Delhi, you can keep 18 liters of alcohol at home. Whereas in Uttar Pradesh, you can keep only four bottles of 750 ml each. In these four bottles, you can keep 2 Indian brands and 2 foreign brands of alcohol. In Haryana, you can keep 6 bottles of country liquor, 18 bottles of foreign liquor and 12 bottles of beer at home. In Rajasthan, you can keep 12 bottles or 9 liters of foreign liquor. In Punjab, you can keep two bottles of country or foreign liquor at home. In Karnataka, you can keep 18.2 liters of country liquor, 9.1 liters of foreign liquor, 4.5 liters of fertility liquor, 9 liters of fruit wine, and up to 2.3 liters of Karnataka-made liquor. Similarly, there are different rules in other states of India.

How much liquor in the train?

According to the rules of the railways, carrying liquor bottles in the train is prohibited. At the same time, traveling in railway trains or any campus after consuming alcohol or any other intoxicant is a crime. Let us tell you that according to section 145 of Railway Act 1989, if you drink alcohol in the train, in the railway premises or on the railway platform or are found carrying a bottle of alcohol, then legal action can be taken against you.

Alcohol in car?

If you carry alcohol while travelling in a car, then you will have to follow the rules of that state. In simple words, you can carry alcohol as per the rules of the state you are going to. If you travel in a car with more than the prescribed amount of alcohol, then a fine can be imposed against you.
